Key Lessons from a Billion-Dollar Company That You Can Apply To Your Business Today

Ever wonder what kind of problems companies are having at the billion-dollar mark?

Ever wonder what kind of problems companies are having at the billion-dollar mark?

I was recently coaching the leadership team at a multiple billion-dollar company. They’re looking to hit their next level of growth next year but have been rubbing up against major obstacles that have prevented them from hitting their goals.

Picture this: this company has access to the world’s most expensive strategists and consultants, yet what they’re finding is that no amount of lofty business strategies are fixing the problem… because the problem isn’t tangible.

The root cause is (surprise, surprise!) human psychology.

Which, by nature, is intangible, irrational, emotional, and completely non-linear. That’s why linear, logically applied strategies usually don’t work when it comes to fixing human problems.

I’ve been learning some powerful lessons about business growth from working with this client.

I’m going to share the key lessons that you can directly apply into your business today, so you can avoid making the mistakes that some of the biggest company in the world are making. Sound good?

Let’s dive in.

Lesson 1: Human struggles are human struggles… no matter what level of business you’re at.

One of the big issues that I encounter over and over as I work with entrepreneurs at the 6, 7, 8, 9 and beyond figure level, is how much effort, resources, and energy they’re dumping into solving their non-linear issues in a linear fashion.

That is, hiring all the brand strategists, copywriters, and funnel builders in hopes that they will help “fix” their problem without taking a step back to ask:

What is the deeper, root cause of why I’m having this problem in the first place?

As my former partner, who’s a high-performance coach, says… “There are no business problems. There’s only personal problems that affect business.” I couldn’t agree more, because the vast majority of the times, the root of a business leader’s problem starts in their own insecurities, fears, outdated belief systems and disempowering ways of operating.

That’s why I primarily work with people’s subconscious minds to help them see their blind spots, shift their beliefs around the problem, and look for the solution from an elevated level of consciousness. When you do that, the best solution becomes clear because you’re no longer consumed by the drama of your own unconscious issues.

No matter what level of business you’re at…

You’ll always have insecurities.

You’ll suffer from impostor’s syndrome.

Things will feel scary and uncertain.

You’ll have big emotions you’re not quite sure how to deal with.

The issues we encounter as human beings do not go away just because have more money or success. They change faces, but annoy you equally the same which is why it’s important to have a consistent, repeatable process for dealing with the problem when it hits (which I help my clients create).

Remember that human behavior is predictably irrational regardless of how big of a game you’re playing.

Lesson 2: Human problems are very inefficient… and expensive.

If you’re already running a small team, think on this:

How many hours do you spend managing team members? Fixing human error mistakes? Dealing with people’s unexpected emotional issues?

Now… what if you multiply that by 100 and add a few million dollars at stake for each mistake made 🙃.

I hope you’re seeing where I’m going with this.

Not doing “the work” as a leader not only creates unnecessary inefficiencies in your business, it gets very expensive quick.

Another big issue I’ve caught onto while coaching leaders, is the lack of training around emotional intelligence and knowing how to deal with other traumatized humans.

This isn’t a jab, by the way — we’re simply not taught this in school which is a tragedy. I’ve spent thousands of hours and dollars learning human psychology, trauma healing, and how to navigate the ins and outs of the subconscious mind, but that’s because this is my life’s work. I wouldn’t expect this to be common knowledge!

Unfortunately, many times, people at work are having unpleasant or inappropriate reactions because they’re stuck in a trauma response and don’t know any better (nor have the tools to deal with their experience).

Few leaders are equipped to deal with team member’s unconscious conditioning, dysregulated nervous systems, or lack of emotional processing abilities. Most times, they don’t have the know-how to do it on themselves, which is why they hire experts like me.

Part of my work is to equip leaders with the tools and strategies to support themselves and team members through navigating their subconscious minds and negative past conditioning so that they can release their blocks and reach their goals in the most efficient manner possible.

Conflict, resistance, misunderstandings in your business translates into inefficiency. Preventing this starts with YOU and your ability to manage your own energy and mindset when shit hits the fan.

Lesson 3: As a leader, you have the power to influence the collective unconscious.

Famous psychologist Carl Jung coined the term “collective unconscious,” which is a part of the mind that is shared by all of human kind, as well as group or tribes of people who are part of a collective.

As soon as your company has more than one person in it, it becomes a collective. Which means that your organization now starts to have an unconscious mind of its own…. with its own goals, visions, insecurities, complexes, fears, and desires.

As a leader, your job is to manage and “lead” this collective so that it’s moving towards its goals and resolving its problems… would you agree?

The issue is that the more people you add to this mix, the more it becomes to juggle, to the point where it can get overwhelming for a leader to handle (understandably so).

This is where big organizations start to collapse in on themselves and face a lot of human resources problems. Because, as you read in #2, the leadership team isn’t properly equipped to handle this “growing pains” problem.

That’s where I come in (well, ideally, I’d like to come in way before this to prevent it but what can you do 😅) and help them look under the hood and find the root of the problem.

The good news is, there is a powerful and simple solution to the collective unconscious problem (as well as the others I’ve described above)…

If the LEADER of the collective shifts profoundly, the rest will follow suit and model the leader.

This is human psychology 101. We unconsciously model those that we look up to and perceive as authority figures. This is also the perfect representation of “be the change you want to see.”

As the leader evolves and shifts their internal world, the people in the collective will start to mirror that change.

This is what’s so exciting and incredible about fully stepping into a leadership position:

You’re literally setting the pace for the evolution of the collective consciousness.

People who come and work with me are ready to step into that next-level leadership role and show up in the world by being authentically themselves, healing their inner world, AND make a massive impact on those around them.

This looks like:

  • Drilling down to the root of the actual problem (not what you think is the problem) and addressing the fears, insecurities, and outdated belief systems causing it
  • Taking care of that impostor’s syndrome and lack of belief in yourself, and instead equipping you with the tools, knowledge, and processes you’ll need to address this in yourself and others
  • Getting you & your team aligned to your big goals so you’re speeding ahead in a shared vision and direction
  • Letting go of the old subconscious stories that no longer serve you, and rewriting your story from the inside out so that you can step into that next level of leadership.

When you shift your inner world, your external world will shift to match you. Not only that, as you step into that deeper layer of leadership, you get to influence the collective unconscious.

Instead of feeling overwhelmed by this power, get excited.

This means that massive change starts with you. So, what will you do with this?

If you’re feeling ready to step into your next level of leadership (and avoid the chronic problems I’ve shared from cropping up in your company), let’s talk.

This is the work that I guide clients through on a private level. This is for you if you’re a business owner or executive at a company:

We look at the key roadblocks holding you back from hitting your goals, getting you reconnected to your soul’s higher purpose, and create a roadmap for how you can grow your business from a space of inner healing and complete alignment to what you’re on this planet to do.

Not only that, but I teach you my subconscious reprogramming process to equip you with the toolkit you’ll need to run this process on yourself over and over again (for life).
