Why I Decided To Take 3 Months of Vacation A Year

What if life is meant to be easeful, abundant, and fun by design?

While I’ve taken 1-2 weeks breaks here and there, I’ve yet to intentionally unplug from my work to fully focus on enjoying myself.

I’ve been purpose-driven for as long as I remember, always putting my work above everything else in life.

I’ve had some profound experiences this past year that showed me that this masculine-first way of leading life…

  • Of putting self-care on the bottom of the list
  • Saving what’s fun and feels good for “later.”
  • Overachieving and working hard to “get sh*t done.”

… Is not the most fulfilling way to live. At least not for me.

As I’ve been deeper into reclaiming the power of my feminine energy, I’m observing that many people, including my clients (both male and female) are struggling with similar symptoms as well.

And, well, lately I’ve been asking this question a lot…

What if life is meant to be easeful, abundant, and fun by design?

If that’s the reality I choose to subscribe to, then what does it look like to fulfill your Soul’s mission AND enjoy the F out of the ride?

On the back of that question, I made a decision:

I’m going to experiment with taking 3 full months of vacation from my business per year.

That doesn’t mean that my business stops, by the way. People will still be served. Value still provided, at levels that are actually higher than ever before.

And, I get to unplug for these periods of time to focus on my joy, and allow whatever needs to come through me during this time, to come through me… whether that looks like inspiration, work-related creations, or (gasp!) doing absolutely nothing.

I’m doing this for me, and for the people I serve.

Precisely because so many of my clients are ambitious, high-performing individuals who give so much but struggle with self-care, I want to set the example of what it looks like to build a wildly successful business, serve with heart, and have time and space to play.

At first I was SO nervous to claim this for myself because I thought it would make me “unhireable” or blow up my business.

Only to realize…

My team has tons of optimization projects they’ve wanted to implement for the business for months but haven’t had the space since we’ve been so full…

The work that I do with my clients is deep, intense, and transformative. It greatly benefits from intentional “off” periods to integrate, which some of my clients take in between programs anyway when they renew…

So instead, I’ve designed my programs to include and benefit from integration periods — this month, my clients will be doing subconscious reprogramming work with a guided meditation I created for them, video trainings, and a guest expert live masterclass they’ll be attending, so that when we start up our sessions, they’re ready to rock and roll to the next stage of their evolution.

Let’s just say that in between my clients and my team, they have their hands full on what to focus and improve on while I’m gone 😁.

And, that the decision to take better care of me actually makes my business BETTER and serves everyone in it MORE than ever before.

p.s. UPDATE… just 1 month after writing this post, I made $111k during my vacation... then 2 months later, a 6-figure month again. Seems like my intuition is onto something 😉.
